We start from a clear argument: buying or reading a newspaper is not the same as following it on social networks. However, we would like to make an approach to this comparison, bridging the gap that exists between these two operations (buying/reading vs. monitoring in RRSS).
The press is the oldest mass media and probably the one that has been most affected by the arrival of the Internet. Newspapers, in this case sports newspapers, have tried to catch up and, inevitably, have had to create their space on the network and also in the social networks themselves.
Content analysis is considered to be the best option because it is «a method of studying and analyzing communication in a systematic, objective and quantitative way, with the aim of measuring certain variables» (Wimmer & Dominick, 1996, p. 70), the same thesis defended by Berelson (1984, p. 18).

Thanks to all the newspapers mentioned above, the creation of what we know today as the Sport newspaper was possible. But we should especially highlight the Crónica del Sport, from the 20th century, considered a clear example of sports publications that have evolved to end up introducing news of various sports, not only national but also international. It is necessary to give a section to the front pages because it is an important part of the newspapers, since it is the showcase of the printed medium in addition to being the first contact that the reader has with the newspaper.
The value of the front page is not only because it is the first thing the reader sees, but also because sometimes readers buy newspapers only to read this first page, that is why it is so important to know how to inform properly and above all to surprise in order to capture the reader.

Today we talk about sports journalists, essential professionals to understand the sports boom. And is that sports journalism is key to have information for our sports forecasts and to analyze the reality of sport.
Sports journalism has more and more forms of expression, and radio, press and television have been joined by internet and social networks, covering the whole reality of modern communication with youtube, Twitch or podcasts.
Radio has always been one of the classic means of sports information. The night is chosen by the main radio stations to offer the classic news and interviews format, which had its moment of maximum splendor starring Juan Ramón de la Morena and José María García.
But beyond the midnight summary programs, if there is an archetypal sports program on radio par excellence, it is the sports carousel, which connects with the different stadiums where the ball is in play.
