White night 2021

The purpose of the White Night, whose name comes from the fact that it is held after sunset, is to bring contemporary artistic creation closer to citizens. The common objectives of all the cities that organize White Nights are: free of charge, avant-garde, citizenship and sustainability. In addition, the exchange of experiences is encouraged through the development of joint programs and the internationalization of local artists through the exchange of proposals.[1] The Municipal Institute of Culture and Tourism of the City of El Salvador is the main organizer of this event.

The Municipal Institute of Culture and Tourism of the City Council of Burgos launches for the first time La Noche Blanca de Burgos on May 17, 2008, choosing this date as the eve of the celebration of the Romería de la Virgen Blanca.

Other cities that have joined the White Night circuit are: Requena (2009) Alcalá de Henares (2011),[10] Zaragoza (2011),[11] Nerja (2012),[12] Almería (2012), Cáceres (2012), Granada (2013) and Cuevas del Almanzora (2014).[13].

The first edition of the event was held in 2011 [16] including among the participating artists: Iván Cáceres, José Ballivián, Vania de Lucca, Zelma Vargas, Santiago Contreras, Juan Carlos Mustaffá, Sandra de Berduccy, Joaquín Sánchez, Glenda Zapata, Manrico Montero and the Plurinational Conservatory of Bolivia.
