2The newspaper La Verdad represents the object of study of this research, which focuses on the evolution of the concept of Prensa del Sureste linked to a certain business strategy of expansion of the newspaper. To this end, by way of contextualization, we summarize the stages that make up the process of birth, rise and fall of La Verdad as the dean newspaper of this type of interregional newspaper.

The origin and development of the museum is closely linked to the Grup d’Elx. The Group was developed between 1966 and 1975, and is one more example of the paradigm that since the beginning of the century spread throughout Europe: The association of artists in different plastic groups.
However, along with this cosmopolitan spirit of the most important artistic groups in the country, others arise that decide to act locally, in contact with their environment. These groups will represent an essential fabric for the development and expansion within our country of the ideas of the artistic and even political avant-garde, since during the sixties they are two practically inseparable elements.

Joan Ramón García Castejón, Elche, (17 de diciembre de 1945), conocido como Joan Castejón es un dibujante, pintor y escultor español, considerado uno de los principales representantes del realismo social en la renovación plástica española de posguerra de los años 70 y 80. Miembro del Grup d’Elx.[1]
A los dieciséis años se traslada a Valencia, donde se forma en Bellas Artes en la Academia de San Carlos. Su primera exposición individual se celebra en la galería de arte valenciana Mateu en 1966. Este primer momento de su carrera (1964-1967) puede calificarse de neofigurativo. La figura humana (a veces agrupada) aparece en medio de espacios indefinidos. Las obras de esta etapa, incluidos los dibujos de temática antropomórfica, anuncian los rasgos peculiares que caracterizan sus obras posteriores[8].
Ese impulso de su carrera se vio truncado, sin embargo, por el traumático paso por la cárcel tras participar en las manifestaciones de mayo de 1967 en Valencia contra el régimen franquista. Tras defender a un amigo que estaba siendo brutalmente golpeado, un agente de paisano detuvo a Castejón. Esa noche recibió varias palizas y poco después fue condenado a seis años de prisión. Hasta mediados de 1969 permanece en las cárceles de Valencia y Teruel. Ese año pasa a formar parte del Grup d’Elx en su segunda etapa, participando en sus exposiciones hasta 1971. Por estos hechos, vuelve a ingresar en la cárcel de Canarias durante siete meses de 1971. Durante su estancia en la cárcel realiza alrededor de dos mil dibujos a la cera o al lápiz, y define otra etapa específica de producción[9].
