And at that point is the poet, at the point of being a disciple of wonder, the point at which he measures the words to give voice to that which comes from within, let us call it beast or unconsciousness, let us call it ourselves, what we truly are and how we were created, in the case of being created or simply born.
«Up into the air springs forth into likeness». The figure used by Pedro Alcarria in Camada is the wolf, an animal with which the human being has a close relationship and which is configured within our imaginary in various ways, sometimes even as a magical representation. The poet seeks to recognize us in this animal that impresses so many and terrifies many; a wild animal, social, but at the same time solitary, that has its own rules within its group and a commendable loyalty.
The poet’s play with symbolism and the abstract makes this work a work for readers who are used to reading poetry, not suitable for novices and those who are not familiar with poetic language, composed by an intense semantic rhythm. Camada, despite having a white and direct verse, without excessive embellishments or ornamentation, with a good sense of rhythm and movement of the poem, is not at all simple or simplistic. The guidance of our totemic logos through hunger and snow and steppe and blood make this animal poetic a hermetic and difficult path to travel; difficult to travel, yes, but pleasant for those who know how to follow the path and manage to get out unscathed from its clutches.

the life of the wolves
It was then decided to repopulate Yellowstone with wolves. A pair of Canadian wolves was captured, belonging to the species most similar to the one that used to reign in Yellowstone, which is said to be an immense volcano, the largest of all. They released this Adam and Eve with the aim of repopulating the world. When the female was pregnant, a poacher killed the male. The park caretakers decided to protect the female, who gave birth in captivity.
They placed her and her cubs in a plain bounded by a fence. Every day, the keepers brought them food. The female and most of her offspring were kept as far away from humans as possible. Only one cub, only one, dared to stay close. Only one, able to keep his eyes on the humans, on the same species that had killed his father.
Twenty-one. This is how the emperor of the wolves would go down in history. Recently released, this wolf moved away from his family and joined another pack, whose alpha met the same fate as the newcomer. The wolf was received with joy, and naturally took the place of the slain male. The king is dead. Long live the king.
