The Council of Colleges of Nurses of Catalonia (CCIIC) and the four territorial colleges (COIB, COIGI, COILL and CODITA) have denounced en bloc the invasion of professional competences that is taking place, in their opinion, with the excuse of the pandemic. They complain about the «professional intrusion» involved in the proposals for the creation of new degrees and also the «temporary» assumption of certain functions exclusive to nursing by other professionals. Fifteen scientific societies from Catalonia and from all over Spain have also adhered to this joint communiqué, which states that the main problem lies in the lack of nurses.
